Bredin brings 25 years of enterprise sales experience in highly regulated sectors to Thentia as it continues its rapid expansion into new markets
Toronto, October 22, 2021 — Leading GovTech software as a service (SaaS) company Thentia today announced the addition of Sean Bredin to its senior leadership team as the new Vice President, Enterprise Sales and Partnerships. With over 25 years of experience across diverse industries, Bredin will spearhead Thentia’s enterprise sales efforts as it brings its revolutionary licensing platform for regulators, Thentia Cloud, to new markets across North America and the EMEA region.
Thentia has already partnered with regulatory agencies spanning occupational and non-occupational licensing across more than 95 occupations and industries to help them transform their licensing processes with Thentia Cloud, an all-in-one software solution that supports all critical regulatory functions, including license registration and renewals, quality assurance and continuing competence, complaints and investigations, governance, finance, document and communications management, analytics, and more.
“Growing our enterprise sales efforts is essential for us as demand for Thentia Cloud continues to accelerate, and we’re confident that Sean’s expertise will catapult Thentia to reach new heights,” says Julian Cardarelli, Chief Executive Officer of Thentia. “With his unique track record in regulated industries, Sean will play a critical role in establishing new relationships for our business as we break into markets around the world. We’re sure that he will play an instrumental role in the next chapter of our growth story and we’re very excited to have him on board.”
Bredin joins Thentia with an impressive track record of success in senior leadership positions where he worked with clients in highly regulated sectors, giving him deep expertise in helping organizations achieve digital transformation while addressing issues of regulatory compliance and minimizing risk.
Most recently, he served for eight years as National Vice President, Energy & National Resources at BDO Canada, where he partnered with global and national companies to develop and deploy specialized Microsoft-based software solutions for the mining, oil and gas, renewables, and utilities sectors. He was also responsible for the planning, sales, and execution of BDO’s national mining industry strategy as National Leader of the Mining Sector Group, which served 150 mining clients in Canada and more than 300 globally.
Prior to BDO, Bredin spent over a decade leading enterprise sales teams at several IT solution providers serving large and mid-size clients spanning diverse industries such as education, government, energy, telecommunications, and financial services. While working at Navantis (now Datavail), he grew sales by over 1,000% over a five-year period and added more than 70 employees across three offices in Canada and the U.S. Previously to this role, during his tenure as National Vice President of Sales, Canada & U.S. at Concept Interactive Inc., Bredin grew sales 600% over a four-year period and led several projects that resulted in Microsoft Impact Awards for clients.
At Thentia, seasoned sales executive Bredin will lead a team of more than 15 salespeople dedicated to the procurement of large and complex contracts. Bredin says he is thrilled to join Thentia and is looking forward to enabling the company to break into new markets to help regulators around the world achieve true digital transformation with Thentia Cloud.
“Regulators have a strong desire to move their processes into the 21st century, but they need to remove the risks associated with making the transition to digital,” says Bredin. “Many digital transformation projects fail not because of the technology itself but because the subject matter expertise is missing from the deployment process. With Thentia Cloud, we’re not taking an existing platform such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics and trying to configure it to meet certain requirements. We’ve built an all-in-one platform from the ground up that is specifically designed to meet the needs of regulators, deployed by a team who knows regulation inside and out. This makes us uniquely positioned to remove the risks associated with adopting new technologies that many regulators have experienced over the last decade.”
Bredin is joining Thentia during a year of impressive growth for the company. The team has increased its employee base by 300% in just the past two quarters and marked two major capital events over the last six months. Most recently, Thentia partnered with leading venture debt provider Espresso Capital on a $15-million credit facility to accelerate its rapid expansion into new markets, and in May announced a Series B investment of $10 million led by New York City-based Spring Mountain Capital with participation from BDC Capital.
Founded in Canada, with operations in the U.S. and trusted by regulatory agencies in North America and worldwide, Thentia was developed by subject matter experts with a mission to transform GovTech through best-in-class technological capabilities. Its secure, modern and elegant solution, Thentia Cloud, is revolutionizing the way agencies manage data and licensing by bringing the entire process into the 21st century with speed, automation, ease of use, and best-in-class support.
